Celebrate DC’s Cherry Blossom season with the Cherry Blossom Giving Circle on April 1st

March 11, 2010

It’s coming up on that time of the year again, when the cherry blossoms around DC’s Tidal Basin are getting ready to bloom! Not only do the blooming cherry blossoms and National Cherry Blossom Festival bring loads of tourists to the area and mark the beginnings of spring, but it also shines a light on API communities and cultures!

So, join us for a reception on April 1st as we shine our own light on DC’s API community. Come celebrate the season, get together with Giving Circle members, and learn more about:

  • the API community in DC
  • philanthropy in DC, and
  • the Giving Circle’s next steps.

Guests Julie Koo, Executive Director, Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs and Luis Francisco Vivaldi, Program Associate, The Community Foundation, will join us to guide our discussion.

Event information:
Thursday, April 1
6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Association of Small Foundations (ASF), 1720 N Street, NW, Washington, DC 20036

ASF is located between 17th and 18th Streets, a 5 minute walk from DuPont Circle.

Please RSVP to by Tuesday, March 30.

Cherry Blossom Giving Circle members and friends are encouraged to attend.

I wish I could been in town to join the event. I used to work closely with Julie when I lived in DC and learned about AAPIP (from Phuong) when I lived in SF. It’s great to see the two coasts connecting.

Thanks Songbae! I also know Phuong from working with her through AAPIP. If you have other friends in DC who might be interested in joining, please let them know about the Cherry Blossom Giving Circle.
