Congratulations to Our 2013 Grant Recipients!
For our 2013 grants, we are awarding a total of $11,000 to four organizations to advance their missions and provide critical services to underserved AAPI populations. For the second year in a row, we focused our giving on smaller nonprofits.
- Asian American Success (AA Success), based in Falls Church, VA: Grant funds will support the operational and administrative costs of providing critical life skills training and coaching to underserved minority students.
- Asian-American Homeownership Counseling Inc. (AAHC), based in DC, VA, and MD: Grant funds will support foreclosure prevention and financial education programs.
- Asian Pacific Islander Queer Sisters (APIQS), based in the DC area: Grant funds will support a screening and discussion of the film “No Look Pass” and will support operational costs to participate in the annual Pride Parade.
- Hepatitis B Initiative of Washington DC (HBI-DC), based in Washington, DC: Grant funds will support hepatitis B education, screening, vaccination, and treatment referrals to AAPI communities.
Join us and Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) DC Metropolitan Chapter on January 29 from 6 – 8 p.m. to celebrate our grantees and the lunar new year. We will be celebrating at the Association of Small Foundations at 1720 N Street NW, which is near the Dupont Circle and Farragut North and West Metro stations.
